This Rag Rug will have the colour scheme of your choice. It is all hand made by The Swedish Flicka Team. It is woven on a GIANT frame loom using 100% upcycled fabric. This unique rag rug is thick, very sturdy, and hardwearing. The final product size is approximately 2x3' feet or 24"x36"inches, and about 1"- inch thick. There are no two Rag Rugs alike and the imperfect nature of this style rug is what makes it a relaxed and informal welcome to your personal home setting. We are open to the idea making bigger sizes if you are interested.

OR if you prefer a ready to ship Rag Rug, we usually have different colors available and the price is €95. plus shipping.

Why you need a Rag Rug:

Your bare feet will enjoy the feel of a Rag Rug so much that you will want to return again and again to your favourite spot to stand whilst washing dishes or just sit and rest your feeties before you climb into bed for the night.

Rag Rugs are overall durable and long-lasting. They feel as good on your feet during warm summer weather as they do during the chilly winter season. Each one is unique with its varying colour combinations. This Rag Rug is useful in any room, but ithis particular smaller size makes it the perfect bath mat, or kitchen sink rug; perhaps even as a cozy bedside rug in a child's room.

All of the clothing/fabric that is used in our Rag Rugs has been laundered before being woven into a rug. Most of the Rag Rug fibres are cotton, wool, velvet, or cashmere; but there are the occasional rayon or polyester pieces, which in no way make the Rag Rug inferior.

The distinctive appearance of this oversized Potholder rug is different than other woven rugs because it is made in the style of the old-fashioned potholders that we all loved to make as children. They simply have just been enlarged. We will even be having larger sizes available in the near future, so we are looking forward to bigger rugs soon! Until then, if you are interested in a specific colour combination, please let us know and we will be happy to work out the details.

Care instructions:

To clean- spot wash with warmish-cold water and a gentle soap-then air dry outdoors in the summer or indoors in the winter.

Spills can be cleaned with a gentle scrubbing brush and soapy water. I have not machine washed them myself, but if anyone has other cleaning experiences, I would enjoy hearing about alternative methods. I prefer the tried and true method of keeping it simple by just choosing darker colours for better wear overall.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I wash my Patchwork Scarf?

Patchwork Scarf Care:

Spot clean if possible. Please follow the directions on the items tag. It will direct you to wash on delicate in a mesh/ lingerie bag or tied pillow case and make sure the water is cool.

Do NOT put the Patchwork Scarf in the dryer-let it air dry on a hanger. You may iron the cotton pieces on the front side but not the fleecy squares or the reverse fleecy side or they will most assuredly melt and stick to the iron.

There is just no way to know how each washing machine will affect the items, however, they are all sturdily made and should stand the test of time. Just give proper attention prior to washing and that will ensure that it stays in fine condition.

Are The Swedish Flicka Patchwork Scarves REALLY one-of-a-kind?

YES! We make everything in small batches here, so even if we use similar fabrics and patterns, and square placement, there will never ever be two Patchwork Scarves that are exactly alike. So each one is truly a unique masterpiece!

How do I clean my Rag Rug?

You can throw the Rag Rug into the washing machine on gentle cycle with as little agitation as possible, and air dry over a stair banister OR chair back until completely dry. However, a very old fashioned & traditional way of cleaning a Rug is the freezing snow method. On a cold, clear day (25°F/ - 3° or colder) with at least several inches of fresh powder snow, take the Rug outside and leave it for a couple of hours until it has frozen. Lay the stiff carpet in the snow and whack the exposed surface with a broom. Shake the rug out, turn it over on a fresh patch of snow, and beat the other side. If you wait for a cold, dry day, the rug will barely become wet when you clean it this way. Just brush off any loose snow before you take it inside.
