We are advocates of global health and environment, and we sincerely hope to inspire everyone to live consciously by noticing the things we CAN do to make a difference. We have spread the weaving techniques and skills that we have learned over the years, all the way from west coast to the east coast USA and along the west coast of Galway Ireland. Learning to weave a Rag Rug is essential to keeping this age old tradition going. These old-world style rugs are made throughout history in almost every region of the world, each with a different culture and background. However, they all have their very own story and carry wonderful pieces of nostalgia with their abundant rich heritage. We hope you will begin your Rag Rug journey and keep the ‘voice of tradition’ alive.

As you begin weaving, you will find how rewarding it is to be a part of the efforts to keep the heavy landfills at bay. You won’t be giving your old clothes away anymore. In fact, you will be collecting them to use for amazing and vibrant Rag Rugs to weave for every room in your home, or to gift to friends that need a comforting cushion under their feet.

Use the following ideas to keep clothing out of landfills:

1. repair and care for your own wardrobe. get back to mending.

although it is fun to go shopping, consider the options for green living, if you want to make a difference.

2. donate clothing locally or gift to willing friends/family, to give them a second life just check out the homeless shelters needs.

3. perhaps you’re interested in selling your excellent and gently used clothing online?

try: eBay, poshmark, thredup, or tradesy to sell online.

3. upcycle old clothes into new clothes ideas. it’s is really fun!

4. buy better quality clothing that you feel truly comfortable and confident.

5. how about a clothes swap? it’s a popular party idea these days.
